Hi there! My name is Aaron Armstrong and I am a Front End Developer. I love creating new, innovative, and interactive websites using the latest technologies in front end development.
I studied at Carleton University and Algonquin College graduating with a Bachalors in Technology of Interactive Multi Media and Design as well as an Ontario College Advanced Technology Diploma. Since then I have been doing freelance front end work for companies all around Canada.
I have worked with such companies as ~Non-Linear Creations, Open+, Hivedirect, Corner portal, and Shock-Diamond.
I am 22 years old, living in Aylmer Quebec, Canada. I have been in love with web development for years, and I’m learning always looking for new things to learn. In my spare time, I'm mostly doing this...working on websites :)
Besides my undying love for Front End Development, I also enjoy many other things, like Snowboarding, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Xbox games, and playing with my big ol' Siberian husky.
As a graduate of Information Technology from Carleton University with a specialization in Interactive Multi Media and Design, I am interested in a Web Development position that will highlight interaction and Front End Development including but not limited to XHTML, CSS, JQUERY, FLASH, HTML5, CSS3, CMS, and Javascript.
Designed for students who are both artistically creative and technically adept. The Interactive Multimedia & Design (IMD) program covers topics in Graphic Design, 2D + 3D Graphics and Animation, Game Design & Development, and Digital Video Compositing
This degree/diploma combination opens doors for you to a broad range of career opportunities such as computer animation, video game design and development, digital video and audio effects, user interface design, multimedia development, dynamic web application design and e-commerce, as well as many others. The real essence is that the commonality between these disciplines enables you to take classes that gear you towards a variety of career paths.
While working with OpenPlus, I worked on the Ottawa.ca website as a Front End Drupal Themer. I was in charge of creating the initial layout using valid XHTML and CSS markup as well as making theme changes through the creation of the site. I themed all of the sites pages, including those that did not come with a Template / Mock-up. I helped in making the site responsive using Drupal’s WET kit, as well as making the site Cross-Browser friendly by using valid code, and the CSS3Pie Module in order to make CSS3 work in Internet Explorer. While theming this site, I used: CSS, CSS3, jQuery, SASS, and XHTML. I also used Compass as my SASS compiler, and Sublime Text 2 as my text editor.
I was a Front End Developer at Dealtripod Inc. I designed websites, coded all pages in valid css and xhtml, Cross Browser Compatability, Jquery and java-script creation/manipulation and any other front end web work needed.

While working at non~linear creations i was a front end developer. This job entitled me to create websites by: Slicing up a Photoshop file, Coding all pages in valid css and xhtml, Cross Browser Compatability, Jquery and java-script creation/manipulation and any other front end web work needed. The sites were coded to work in Red Dot CMS. Sites included but were not limited to xhtml, css, jquery, java script, php, and flash.

I was a hired contract web developer for CKG Design Center. I would take photoshop templates and files, slice them up, and code the site in valid xhtml and css. The website was also coded for use with Dakno CMS. Sites included xhtml, css, jquery and php.

Aaron Armstrong has worked with me as a Web Front-End Developer in a summer job contract at non-linear creations for 4 months during the year of 2011. His responsibilities have included creating and maintaining HTML and CSS files, developing JS front-end solutions, and integrating front-end frameworks such as jQuery and templates for Sitecore CMS.
During his time here he has did an amazing job on the development of templates for our clients. He had the opportunity to work in a variety of different projects with and without a CMS tool.
Aaron is highly up to date on the latest trends on front-end development. He was instrumental in helping us to improve our projects starting packages. He is very well organized, diligent in his tasks, easily reachable, and always on time.
Aaron has real potential and can make valuable contribution to any web development team he would join. I would highly recommend him as skilled Web Developer.
Aaron has bailed me out on several occasions, coming through with great work under pressure. Always seems to have found a solution to problems. He knows what he is good at and he does it well. Very efficient and very dedicated. I'd hire him now if I could. I hired aaron as a Graphic/Web Designer in 2011 on contract basis, and hired aaron more than once.
